Philosophy

KuritBike is born with the intention to meet the needs of tourists who are eager to explore Curitiba in a more intense way. Our goal is to offer a highly differentiated service, praising the uniqueness, quality and safety, working preferably with small groups, with a maximum of 10 people.

We believe in the potential for fun and interaction that a bike ride can provide and emphasize this by putting people in contact with landscapes and pleasant routes, and in touch with each other during the ride.

Furthermore, we see the bicycle as a great tool for changing habits. We see it as an ecological, healthy, fun and sustainable alternative to the problems of automotive transport in big cities.

Mission

To promote a more livable city by fostering cyclemobility in many different ways: providing leisure and culture through safe and pleasant bike rides; supporting people and companies interested in becoming more bike-friendly and radiating information about the positive aspects of non-motorized transportation in an urban context.

Name and meaning

Kuritbike, blending native word "Kurit" (pine tree) which originated the name of the city and the English word "bike”, the company offers a tourist service linked to the history and the future.

The use of the native word "Kurit" represents the bonding element of the trilogy formed by the elements: pine tree (nature), Indian (man) and bicycle (technology) forming an alliance to benefit the environment as a whole, once we have the Indians (Native Brazilian) as a reference to harmonious interaction with nature.

The relation of the company name with the pine tree or Araucaria, more than being a strong link with the city, also represents the concern and care for nature by several actions. The main one being the choice of a healthy, ecological, non-polluter, compact and silent vehicle for commuting: the bicycle. Moreover, one of the goals is to produce zero garbage during the rides.

The pine tree with its tall structure and open canopy is also a good metaphor for the emerging culture of cycling, which in some places of the world emerges and stands out from the chaos and comes with an overview of current problems. In the same way, the pine tree stands out in the landscape and from the top of its canopy has a privileged and panoramic view of its surroundings.

The choice of English word "Bike" is an allusion to the technology that can not be left out nowadays, and the bike is the technological tool in the pursuit of environmentally friendly and sustainable attitudes.

Besides, the bicycle with its incredible mobility can be seen as a metaphor of the birds that spread the seeds of the pine tree, and these seeds can be seen as metaphors of this new environmental awareness. Like blue jays carry, spread and keep the pine trees alive, the bike is a strong spreader of respect the for the environment.
